Isn’t that the stuff mom-porn is made from?  Does it sound like a fairy tale?  An impossibility?  Do you think I’m crazy?  Drunk?

But I assure you…this is real, folks.

As an Independent Consultant with Pampered Chef, I’ve discovered tons of ways to throw a great tasting, homemade meal together for my family with as little effort as possible.  I really love having dinner with my family, but I really hate having to spend all evening in the kitchen.

This recipe is a family favorite, and the ease at which it comes together is practically shameful.  Its a great one to have on hand for those nights when you have to cook dinner but don’t necessarily want to cook dinner.  You’ll also find that the Pampered Chef’s Deep Covered Baker is a lifesaver.  This dish helps you create easy meals that come out of your oven or microwave and go straight to the table.


Beer Roasted Chicken

Yield: 6-8 servings

Beer Roasted Chicken


  • 1 whole roaster chicken, thawed
  • 1-2 tbsp Pampered Chef Garlic & Herb Rub
  • 1 12 oz. beer of your choice


  1. 1. Remove any gizzards and insides of the chicken through the neck cavity.
  2. 2. Place chicken in Pampered Chef Deep Covered Baker or Rockcrok Dutch Oven.
  3. 3. Season thoroughly with Pampered Chef Garlic & Herb Rub.
  4. 4. Pour entire bottle of beer into the bottom of cooking vessel.
  5. 5. Place in microwave and cook on high for 15 minutes. Remove from microwave, flip chicken on opposing side, season again with rub. Return to microwave and continue cooking on high for another 15 minutes.
  6. 6. Remove from microwave. Transfer chicken onto large cutting board and carve.

This is also one of those recipes that’s great to leave out for a husband whose culinary skills could best be described as questionable.

Getting the entire family involved in cooking together and sharing meals together regularly is a great way to strengthen your bond with each other.  It’s always been a way for us to spend unplugged quality time together.

Beer Roasted Chicken is such an easy dish.  I normally serve it with some cheesy rice and a steamed veggie, sometimes a little gravy drizzled over the chicken, in case we want to get crazy.  We usually always have leftovers, which is great for lunches the next day.  Any chicken can be saved for soup or chicken salad later on.
